Description

Super Slime Arena is a multiplayer party fighting game embracing equal parts accessibility and chaos. Every slime has a unique attack and every attack is a one-hit-KO. Every time your slime gets KO'd, you respawn as a different character. True mastery demands understanding of 32 slimes with unique qualities, and learning how their abilities interact in over a thousand possible match-ups!

Play on 12 unique stages in 5 different game modes. Dive in to the chaotic action of Shuffle mode, or carefully consider each matchup while picking and counter-picking slimes for Elimination mode. Explore the wilds of the Rainbow Jungle, ricochet off walls in Lucky Neko Pinball, or fight between high-speed trains at Slime Station.

Enjoy handmade 16-bit pixel art backgrounds and an original retro-inspired soundtrack from Slime Girls, Red&Green, Shannon Mason (Pongball), Harry Lodes, Ruri Matsumura, Jean of mArc, Commandycan, Mark Sparling, Alex Sanchez, Alejandro Moros, Sean Thornton, Rob Karpay, Rachel Hartanto, and Kommisar!

Fight with all of your friends, and all of your controllers! Enter the arena using nearly any controller from retro to modern, fight sticks or flight sticks, plastic guitars and bongos! We don't put any limits on which controllers you can use, or how many controllers you can use. The game supports as many players as you have controllers for, both local and online!

Inspired by a plethora of 90's Japanese console games and modern party game classics, Super Slime Arena seeks to capture the unique joy of playing together in a friendly and approachable fighting game for everyone!

History

JellyTeam was started by two Northeastern University students, Mark Trueblood and Oskar Strom, who first started working together on various projects in their game design courses. The original concept for Super Slime Arena was created by Mark in his game interface design class where he worked with Oskar to create a prototype which the two have been working on in their spare time ever since.

Having been successfully Greenlit on Steam in 2015 JellyTeam has continued polishing Super Slime Arena with release coming January 23rd, 2018. Fellow Northeastern alumni Liam Fratturo joined the team to develop our online systems and as another programmer.

Super Slime Arena has been exhibited at many major events across the America including PAX West, PAX East, GDC, Boston Festival of Indie Games, Otakon, and Play NYC as well as smaller local events in Boston and Seattle such as Playcrafting's Spring Expo and Player 1/Player 2.

In 2018 Super Slime Arena was chosen as one of the Indie MEGABOOTH selections to be brought to BitSummit in Kyoto where JellyTeam met with DANGEN Entertainment and signed a publishing agreement to bring the game to Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2019.
